Autumn has arrived

I know my last post was about fall deliveries, but now its official, autumn has arrived. School has started, orange leaves dot our walkway up to the store, and our shelves are bursting with all new items. From scarves and gloves, to wool hats and cozy coats the store is warming up for the cooler temps that are soon and sure to arrive.

Can you believe we are un packing boots and sweaters! Fall deliveries are always bittersweet. Its fun to have new colors and textures in the store, but sad because it means summer is nearing an end. Don’t worry though we have a lot of fun summer sale items along with all of our new autumn delights! Shown above is Hilary Radley Bags, Miz Mooz Boots, and sweaters by Angie and Press.

Sophia Forero Trunk Show

Sat. July 24 10- 5 & Sun. July 25, 10am-3pm

We are so excited to welcome Sophia Forero back to our Egg Harbor store. This is our largest trunk show of the year. We are quite honored to have such a nationally recognized artist visiting the shop and meeting with our customers.

Sophia is a Chicago jewelry designer who’s eye for color, texture, and design stems from her love of history and wide experience of international culture. After earning her Master’s Degree at University of Chicago, she worked for the US Peace Corps, teaching and traveling throughout eastern Europe. Sophia went on to see the world, gathering inspiration and materials from which she began to craft fine jewels. She has learned seven languages, helping her communicate with artisans from all over the globe, including Russia, Mexico, and Greece. Sophia’s jewelry is made with sterling silver, 14 karat gold, and focuses on the brilliance of color in natural gemstone combinations.

Sophia is a proud mother of four, and works alongside her husband in their joint jewelry studio outside Chicago. Sophia will be at Patricia Shoppe in Egg Harbor all weekend showing her jewelry collection

Sophia’s pieces are on the red carpet- actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Vivica Fox, Keiko Agena, and Nia Vardalos are just a few who enjoy her work.

Mars & Valentine Jewelry Trunk Show

One of our most beautiful lines of jewelry has sent a special delivery to the Egg Harbor store. We get to showcase a very large collection from Mars & Valentine of New York City for a week. This unique trunk show features one of a kind, handmade pieces of vintage findings, antique buttons, and natural gemstones set with high quality craftsmanship in sterling silver. This line has quite the following, has been seen on the red carpet on celebrities like Penelope Cruz, Joss Stone and the like. The slogan reads ‘Jewelry for the modern Goddess’.

Nothing says summer like cotton floral dresses. Here are some great summer frocks (tops and dresses) just in at the Egg Harbor store. Funky People is a new line at the shop and is selling quickly! We love summer in Door County- I can see any of these being sported at the beach, or maybe at a garden wedding.

Our stores have always had vintage inspiration and several of our jewelry designers combine vintage pieces with modern. But now we have the real deal! I met Kate Rauss, an antique jewelry dealer, a year ago and we have started a great relationship of bringing Patricia Shoppe Egg Harbor customers a very unique collection of vintage and antique jewelry. Kate sends me a pick box whenever I am running low. Opening the box is always a treat, you never know what will be in there. This year we have a great mix of broaches, bracelets, and necklaces from as early as the turn of the century to the more retro pieces of the 50’s and 60’s. Here is just a sample of some of the new pieces. We love vintage!

Egg Harbor’s 10th Season!

The Egg Harbor store opens for the season today, starting our 10th Door County season! (Fri & Sat 10-5, Sun& Mon 11-4, closed Tues & Wed)

Although we were closed for 10 weeks, we stayed very busy. This winter included many trade shows trips including New York City, Las Vegas, and Chicago a few times. We found so many cute things and are geared up for another great year. We have all kinds of new jewelry lines, focusing on handmade artisan pieces, and a few with some real vintage flair- true to the Patricia Shoppe theme. We have brought in new purses, revisited some old favorites too- like Miz Mooz shoes- soooo cute this year! Check back soon as we will update our calender of events for the year very soon, we have some great things planned for 2010! Also become a fan on Facebook, we post daily on there.

Wreath Barn Opens at Egg Harbor Shop

The annual Robben’s Nest Farm Wreath Sale starts this Friday in the Barn at the Egg Harbor Patricia Shoppe.

Handmade by Door County floral designer Josiah Robben with locally harvested dogwood, pussywillow, dried flowers, and a beautiful array of pines and cedars. Our 125yr old barn turns into old world Christmas with the sweet smell of pines and each piece handmade on site. Open til Christmas.

The Eternity Scarf

Ok- you asked, here they are- the Eternity Scarves. After featuring in our enewsletter and again on our little TV spot last Saturday I can’t stop the emails and calls comming in about them! They are very cool, and Oprah promoting them always helps too. I would have to say this is one of our ‘it’ items for the holidays. The scarves have no end, can double as a hood or shrug, and you don’t have one end that always hangs to long! They are a great price- $32, and are perfect for your fashionista, or for those more classic ladies. This is not only a great trend, but very practical and useful- love that! These are selling quick, call ahead for availability.
