Patricia Shoppe celebrates the beauty and diversity of style of the American woman. Inspired by her great grandmother, Patricia McGrath Lind, who owned a boutique by the same name from the 1930's-1960's (see Our History), founder Erin Bosman fills her stores with both the classically stylish and the foolishly up-to-date, leaving plenty of room for her customers' individual personality and creativity to run wild.
In the Patricia Shoppes' antique cabinets you will find a large collection of fine, fashion, and handcrafted jewelry. These eclectic boutiques also feature fabulous accessories including shoes, scarves, purses and belts. Each location carries an array of specialty apparel including vintage inspired blouses, unique dresses and skirts, silk screened t-shirts, and seasonal coats. Artisan made and trend driven, you'll encounter a wide range of styles and prices at Patricia Shoppe.
Adorned with photos of Patricia and her pen and ink sketches, the new Patricia Shoppe embraces femininity, and offers styles that unite generations. "I think women see a bit of Patricia in themselves," says Erin. "Each unique piece invites you to appreciate the women you came from, the individual you are today, and all the women who will follow you."
Now open in three locations, the new Patricia Shoppes, although reflections of the original, have each achieved their own style with each store owner drawing on her own unique vision.
At age 23, I was at a crossroads in life - what to do with it! I had been managing retail shops in Door County and enjoying winters off for travel, but didn't feel the 70 hour work weeks were really paying off! I decided that if I was going to continue that life style I would be my own boss and enjoy what I was selling (no more seagull paintings!!). I envisioned a small earring and purse shop that would pay for college. I applied for a Small Business Association loan and took a huge leap of faith.
Well, many years later my little shop has grown into something I never could have imagined. I never went away to college, but believe I found my true path nonetheless. I have enjoyed every minute of my career and wouldn't trade it for anything. Even on the long and stressful days I walk out of the shop on aching legs feeling very much alive and believing I am doing what I was meant to do.
There is one aspect to my job that I didn't anticipate and it has been my biggest reward- my customers. I never imagined my life would be so full with relationships with women who were complete strangers before they walked though the door of Patricia Shoppe. I have helped choose dresses and jewelry for important life events like weddings and anniversaries. I have watched young girls grow into women and women battling sickness and loss and the birth of many children. One lucky weekend I counted 10 hugs and even got to hold a few babies! I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your patronage. Patricia Shoppe is nothing without you and I am ever grateful for the joy and prosperity you bring me.
